There were a few picketers at the post office tonight. (What was I doing at the post office tonight?) I just assumed they were Tea Partiers, forgetting most of them probably went to Washington, DC. The signs were homemade with irregular print and too many words to grasp without stopping. The result is probably that they gave more credence to the Tea Party.

I stopped to be cordial, and saw the signs advertised a web site I will not promote. The protesters wanted corporations to get their money out of government. Indeed, we do not want law and justice to be sold as commodities, but tax day is an odd day to complain about corporate contributions. Roughly half Americans pay no income tax; corporations and rich corporate executives pick up the difference. Activists (who have a reputation for exercising greed for others) are demanding a fair share for those who don’t pay; but their definition of a fair share is to decrease the negativity of the shirkers’ contributions to society. Therefore, I shall optimistically conclude the picketers were a front for some right-wing outfit trying to make the left look screwy.
