The obesity crisis is taking over our brains, so it’s time for some mental calisthenics. First, multiple sources are suddenly claiming the Tea Baggers have misidentified the enemy. It was, in fact, multinational corporations, and not government against which the colonists protested. Furthermore, today, free marketeers need to be mad at corporations. The only problem is, government is taking over the large corporations, so we need to be mad at government again. People in government, we are told, are not the elite, and yet they are the only people (or demi-people) capable of running large corporations and perhaps incidentally soaking in their profits. The thesis is that monopolies run rampant without government – taking everything over, of course.
Again, for those of you without a sense of humor, I don’t believe all that. I’m just summarizing what I read.
