Yesterday John blogged about folks in some rural counties who are looking at using “non-attainment” funds from Washington and Raleigh — referred to by one person as “strange money” –to build walking trails. I haven’t been able to get that phrase out of my mind. So today, I’d like to suggest we start blogging about other examples of “strange money.” I nominate the $695 million (today’s number) for the proposed Triangle boondoggle known as light rail. Other ideas?
