A recent survey of 1000 found that most respondents had no clue how to calculate a hypothetical debt burden.
“Even those with a college degree don’t have an understanding of the basic finance ideas,” Annamaria Lusardi, Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College and one of the survey designers, told CNNMoney.com.
