According to the Hendersonville Times-News:

The struggle to pay bills and put food on the table is a problem faced by 17.5 percent of North Carolinians living in poverty — higher than the national average of 15.2 percent, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.

While you make fun of the wording, great agencies are coming together at forums to brainstorm solutions to poverty. For local interest, be it noted one was recently held at Blue Ridge Community College. I do believe poverty shall never be cured; especially when defined as a percentage of a Gaussian distribution. I also believe ways of reducing it are quite well known and established if anybody would care to put down their progressive agenda long enough to look.
