The City of Asheville, Buncombe County, and the Asheville-Area Chamber of Commerce will host an affordable housing summit November 16, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the US Cellular Center Banquet Hall. This sounds like a rehash of the local daily’s forum a couple days ago, even featuring a few of the same artists.

The event will feature two moderated discussions looking at challenges and opportunities and how public [sic.] and the private sector can work together to provide affordable housing for our communities. A networking reception will follow the panel discussions.

To that I say, let us make housing more affordable by raising taxes to fund receptions for the beautiful people as they try to figure out how to (1) zone us without gentrifying, and (2) tax the masses to pay a bureaucrat to figure out how to give back more than was taken.
