Because it’s different, but the same:
*N&R treats us to a front-page PR piece on the downtown luxury hotel recently approved by Guilford County commissioners;
*Surprise —-Anybody who’s anybody in Greensboro supports Guiford County’s proposed sales tax hike;
*The Winston-Salem Journal bemoans economic incentives, adding “(t)he only end in sight is for Congress or the Supreme Court to outlaw incentives”;
*HPE also also bemoans incentives, yet encourage review of High Point’s incentives policy, which would “seek other types of inducements to lure economic development” such as water, sewer and road;
*N&R lead editorial expresses fair amount of skepticism over a new downtown Greensboro performing arts center, yet there should be little doubt they’re all for it;
*Journal explores more accusations of sexual assault at Parkland High School that school officials didn’t report to law enforcement;
*Guilford County Schools holds on to $14 million in fed stimulus funds; Superintendent Mo Green “has compared budget preparations for next year to approaching a cliff”;
Like I said—- different but the same.
