I’ve seen no news yet out of D.C., but the U.S. Supreme Court was scheduled to hear oral arguments today in the latest North Carolina redistricting fight.
If you’re fuzzy about the details of the latest skirmish, John Hood summarized the salient issues back in August 2007. The Locker Room also published some lengthy quotes from the N.C. Supreme Court decision.
Expect no ruling any time soon. The justices will hold a conference at the end of oral arguments on this and other cases, take a preliminary vote, and then set about drafting and revising opinions.
