Surprise —- a report released by the N.C. Railroad predicts a healthy demand for commuter train service between Greensboro and Goldsboro.

Rumor has it Antiplanner will pay a visit to JLF next week, and he’ll probably have plenty to say about the report.

As it stands, he weighs in again on President Obama’s proposed high-speed rail network, noting that rail advocates “want people to switch from faster plans to merely fast trains and convenient, door-to-door autos to merely downtown-to-downtown trains, all at huge taxpayer expense.”

Supposedly demand for rail travel is high between Greensboro and Burlington. But there’s no better stretch of highway that I-40/85 between G’boro and Burlington.
