Read past the occasional typo and delve deeply into this “Winds of Change” briefing about what the Senate Intelligence Committee really stated in its lengthy report released — and hideously spun — by the news media last week.

For example, 1) as we already knew, Joe Wilson is a bald-faced liar who sucked the media into his anti-Bush tirades for more than a year; 2) Iraq was seeking nuclear material from Africa; 3) links between Iraq and al Qaeda were long-standing and substantial, though analysts differed as to their operational status at the outbreak of the war; 4) Iraq had aided al Qaeda in its development of WMD; 5)you simply cannot trust the initial headlines and media reports on these issues, which we should have learned a long time ago with regard to the David Kay report on Iraq’s weapons programs (which supported the case for intervention by establishing a threat to American security from Iraq’s wealth of research, scientists, and terror links) and the recent 9/11 Commission staff report that did not suggest there was no relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda.

Must reading.
