Whatever happened to the concept of good products selling themselves? Jackson County’s Tourism Development Authority, funded by its 4-cent room tax, has decided to work with three marketing firms.

TDA will pay Brandon $100,000 for developing overall strategy and functioning as the “umbrella” organization; Pineapple, a group that has previously worked for the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, gets $12,000 to bring local expertise to the table, handle public relations and placement of non-paid advertising; Innsights receives $10,000 for social media.
