In an effort to prove my continued diligence in performing the intellectual duties of president of the John Locke Foundation, I hereby offer this after-action report about the catfight ? or is it the dogfight? ? in National Review Online’s “Locker Room.” The subject? The eternal battle over cats and dogs.

You know, which is better. Which is more useful.

I started things with a simple observation, which prompted NRO Editor-at-Large Jonah Goldberg and his barking wolfpack to respond at length on the blog and in emails. Claws and paws exchanged blows. Just a little bit ago, Jonah and I did a segment of Michael Graham‘s morning show on Boston’s WTKK-FM to battle some more. I won, of course.

By the way, Graham is a former talk-show host at WBT-AM in Charlotte and lived and worked for a long time in South Carolina.
