A blog site has sent The Associated Press a bill for citing one of its blog posts. This is hilarious because of the AP’s ridiculous policy adopted last year to charge bloggers for using as few as five words from AP reports on their blogs:

This is the world the AP has brought on themselves. Every time they quote content – tweets, blog posts, online videos, you name it – they should pay for it because they seem to believe we all should pay for any content they quote. If they believe in this segregated, transactional, short-sighted Internet, then they need to stand by their principles and pay others when their reporters are too lazy to write the stories themselves.
