There’s been a lot of talk over the past few days concerning
Barack Obama’s proposed foreign policy initiatives.  Perhaps the most volatile issue has been the
Senator’s willingness to open discussions with just about any foreign leader in
the world, no matter what the conditions. According to Obama, this willingness
is somehow reminiscent of the foreign policies of Pres. Reagan and Pres.
Kennedy. Unfortunately, the junior senator from Illinois
has got it all wrong.  In an editorial to
the Wall Street Journal, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) explains the divide between
the current policy initiatives of the Democrats and their more informed foreign
policy heritage.  In addition, he aptly
demonstrates that Barack Obama is neither John Kennedy nor Ronald Reagan. It’s an
interesting read from a former Democrat that remains one of the most popular
politicians in the Senate.
