A groundbreaking study of 950,000 Swedish men found that taller men receive a better education. The study found that men taller than 194 cm (6 ft 4 in) were two to three times more likely to obtain a higher education when compared with men shorter than 165 cm. Unfortunately, Finn Rasmussen and his staff at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute did not draw any conclusions from the research. That would have made it too easy to ridicule.
How much does height really matter? Taller U.S. Presidents do not necessarily have more success than shorter ones. We do have Abraham Lincoln literally at the top (6 ft 4 in), and Jefferson, Washington, Reagan, and Jackson were all over 6 ft tall. Yet, James Buchanan, our worst president, and Gerald Ford, our clumsiest president, were both 6 ft tall. The best president that nobody talks about, James Polk, was 5 ft 8 in tall and poor James Madison could not even break 5 ft 4 in.
