Our very own dj has hit the big time, shaming local government into saving water in the middle of drought.
He photographed tanker trucks rolling up to fire hydrants in his Charlotte neighborhood, filling up with water, and then rolling to construction sites in Union County. Turns out Union County had banned the use of water to clean streets or keep dust down during construction. Mecklenburg had not. Call it water arbitrage.
Now CMUD has moved to ban the cross-border water raids as well. But what is telling is that it took weeks for the action to take place and probably would not have happened at all if Tanker Narc had not been on the case.
