Verizon Wireless, beneficiary of up to $7.2 million in state economic incentives in exchange for building a call center in Wilmington, opened its facility this week:
“This is as good as it gets,” said Wilmington Mayor Spence Broadhurst. “This is the way it’s supposed to work – a true partnership with the county, city and state.”
Scary that politicians are now admitting openly that businesses cannot be allowed to grow and operate by themselves — they must come to government (i.e., taxpayers) for help.
