The National Taxpayers Union just released its scorecard for the 2nd session of the 110th Congress (last year). It shows the “highest-ever number of ‘big spenders’ in Congress,” according to an NTU press release (PDF download here).

The scorecard assigns letter grades to each lawmaker. The results for North Carolina’s congressional delegation:

  • G.K. Butterfield, 18 percent, F
  • Howard Coble, 65 percent, B
  • Bob Etheridge, 6 percent, F
  • Virginia Foxx, 89 percent, A
  • Robin Hayes, 50 percent, C
  • Walter Jones, 54 percent, C
  • Patrick McHenry, 83 percent, A
  • Mike McIntyre, 29 percent, D
  • Brad Miller, 6 percent, F
  • Sue Myrick, 72 percent, B
  • David Price, 6 percent, F
  • Heath Shuler, 26 percent, D
  • Mel Watt, 5 percent, F

By the way, the fact that Reps. Etheridge, Miller, and Price scored 6 percent a piece (juxtaposed, 666) has nothing to do with anything.
