Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) teachers will see a bump in pay courtesy of the new county budget. On Twitter, Ann Doss Helms of the Charlotte Observer writes, “Lots of teachers & CMS advocates saying ‘thank you’.”
Apparently, the same teachers cannot extend the courtesy to the N.C. General Assembly, which approved an average pay increase for teachers of 6.5 percent and increased K-12 education spending by $500 million.
Meck taxes inch up, but more kids get free preK and @CharMeckSchools teachers get a local supplment bump. Lots of teachers & CMS advocates saying “thank you” https://t.co/neNfykxZX1
