gainesSomehow it was decided that Chip and Joanna Gaines, the delightfully wholesome couple behind the very popular “Fixer Upper” show on HGTV, must be attacked for politics.

Why? They’re not political. There’s nothing political about the show. It’s about helping people create their dream home within a set budget out of an older home.

Oh. I did say they are “delightfully wholesome” and the show is “very popular.” That’s the problem.

Remember:

Socialists cannot allow anything to extend beyond the political realm because their philosophy is all about enslaving everything to politics. The “political correctness” movement is the corrosive front of this sick movement. You name it — foodmusic and the arts, even sports [and] religion — and it must be yoked to the political message du jour.

So it seems it was time to politicize the Gaines’ show. How dare they be wonderful and successful without being squawking social justice nuthatches? Their refreshing lack of being an outrage is outrageous!

The Daily Signal took note of this befuddling campaign of personal destruction:

Like many Americans, HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines attend a church where the pastor thinks homosexual behavior is a sin.

And somehow that’s “news.”

BuzzFeed printed the original story, headlined “Chip And Joanna Gaines’ Church Is Firmly Against Same-Sex Marriage.” From there it was picked up by CosmopolitanUs Weekly, and my favoriteJezebel.

Why?

Good question.
