Meet Rima Fakih, the first Muslim and Arab-American to be crowned Miss USA.
Her win touched off celebrations in her Dearborn, Michigan hometown where the large Lebanese community claims Fakih as an example of “real” Arab-American life and culture.
Interesting to me that as of yet Aljazeera.net makes absolutely no mention of Fakih or her new title. The Gulf oil spill remains in heavy rotation, however.
