Eastern Guilford parents still don’t trust Guilford County Schools to get the pods up on time. They shouldn’t. But again, if they don’t think GCS can build a pod village on time, what makes them think they can renovate the Lucent building on time? The contractor may say he can do it, but he might not realize it’s the state’s way or the highway.

But something’s up with GTCC. Back in December, Superintendent Terry Grier told the school board they had to make a decision in a hurry because they wouldn’t know until February if GTCC would be an option. That tells me GCS has at least talked with GTCC about it. But now GTCC president Don Cameron says no one’s talked to him about it.

In that case, GCS must be pretty confident it will have the pods ready on time. It’s just a temporary setup, but I wonder if GCS realizes this is a big right before a possible bond referendum.
