Why aren’t the same politicians who have tortured the Constitution to enact “campaign reform legislation” because of the supposed need to prevent “the appearance of corruption” even slightly interested in reforming elections to prevent vote fraud? I would think that the appearance of dishonest elections (which John Fund has demonstrated to be a reality in his recent book) would be at least as compelling an issue, and doing something about it does not require shredding the Bill of Rights.
