Big Labor and the environmentalist movement have made an alliance and you can read about it here.
One immediately thought: this might be like the Hitler-Stalin Pact of 1939. It’s just a matter of who will stab whom in the back first. If the greenies had their way, most of the remaining blue collar workers would soon be out of work — unless they could find employment as park rangers or salesmen in stores that sell canoes, hiking boots and the like.
But there is a common thread of socialism running through both movements. They both want to elect politicians who favor increasing intervention against the free market. Maybe that will be enough for a “Bickersons” sort of marriage.
