People in Cherokee County jammed the commissioners’ chambers and yelled at them to do something about the wild and dangerous animals. Sheriff Keith Lovin reported 911 received 612 “dangerous animal calls” in 2009, 700 in 2010, and 90 so far this year. The county was responsive to pressure from the local humane society to get more serious about adopting an animal control ordinance and hiring a dog catcher.
