First Principle – Everything Is Permissible Between Consenting Adults

You have all heard of the “transaction” arranged on the Internet between Armin Meiwes and Bernd Brandes? Brandes wanted to be killed and eaten by another human and Meiwes wanted to kill and eat another human. They arranged to meet and complete the transaction–Meiwes ate at least 44 pounds of Brandes’s flesh. (There is no indication that Brandes stipulated how much of his flesh was to be eaten.)

“Thanks to one of the wonders of modern technology, the Inernet,” Theordore Dalrymple observes in the latest edition of City Magazine The Case for Cannibalism. “they both could avoid that most debilitating of all human conditions, frustrated desire. What is wrong with that?”

Ok, something is wrong with it; but how does one square this with our first principle?
