This Whitewater Park thing is getting absurd. The July 1 grand opening remains in peril as construction is not yet completed. And even if an agreement can be reached with park neighbors for road access to the site, it is unclear what that deal will cost the publicly-backed $32 million venture.
Then, take a look at the center’s just-released price list. Does $33 for a 90-minute session on a really big log flume ride sound kinda high? It does to me. Oh, yes I’m sure there is some sort of marketing plan behind those numbers, just like the Bobcats had when they priced themselves out of the Charlotte sports and leisure market.
I got a bad feeling about this deal, but I hope I’m wrong. Charlotte can’t afford any more blunders.
