Greensboro Mayor Robbie Perkins testified during an alimony hearing in Guilford County District Court that— as the N&R reports — “he has no assets other than ‘my clothes, a few pieces of furniture’ and $2,159 in the bank.

The mayor’s ex-wife that her ex-husband has “deliberately depressed his income in bad faith,” pointing to various golfing trips and his country club membership as evidence.

The judge did not issue a ruling, and asked for the parties to return to court Friday. Perkins will be one of nine votes at tonight’s City Council meeting, during the council will take up several spending items, including land for the proposed downtown performing arts center and $1.5 million for the International Civil Rights Museum.
