Persons involved with the coining and circulation of the Liberty Dollar continue to get in deeper water with the law. Although those involved in the business locally maintained they had been told by law enforcement that what they were doing was perfectly legitimate, key players are being rounded up and tried.

Bernard vonNotHaus is awaiting sentencing for minting coins. According to the prosecuting attorney, “attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism.” One might ask exactly what the “legitimate currency of this country” is, but that is beside the point. The Liberty Dollar operation had $7 million, or 16,000 worth of precious metal coins, backed by warehouse receipts, that will now be confiscated by the government.
