This is getting quite unbelievable.

The tab for Mecklenburg County’s courtship of its own cable TV franchise has reached $1.2 million. This is madness.

Town officials in Huntersville are evidently surprised that their portion of the bill has reached $471,000. What did they think was going to happen when they hired “consultants” to study the idea?

Worse, the tab will have to be paid upfront unless the county and the towns go ahead and spend $80 million or so to buy the old Adelphia system. That, using government logic, makes it more likely that this bad idea will get done, not less.

Oh and do not forget that Meck Deck readers were told this legal bill stuff was coming to Meck back in October.
