The Democratic congressman from the 2nd District was the only member of the North Carolina delegation to both support the so-called Stupak amendment to H.R. 3962 ? barring taxpayer subsidies for abortion coverage for people who purchase medical coverage under Obamacare ? and vote for final passage of the bill.

So if the Senate passes a health care bill, and it goes to a House-Senate conference, and the Stupak amendment is stripped out of the final version, how will Etheridge vote?

Will he support a bill allowing public funding of abortions?

With Etheridge mulling a run against Republican Richard Burr next year, his vote faces even more scrutiny than it did Saturday night.
