The News & Observer published a story about the proposed social studies curriculum changes, and the comments are rolling in. Just for the record, Lynn Bonner did not attempt to interview the two main opponents of the changes – yours truly and Michael Belter. Instead, Bonner interviewed the chairman of Called2Action.
Proponents of the changes are mounting an amusing campaign to defend the proposal by criticizing the messenger, Fox News. One person noted, “People who learn the ‘truth’ from Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh need a lobotomy.” Another person proclaimed, “Fox caters to emotions they create from fear and ignorance.”
So much for focusing on the issues.
