That’s how liberty dies under unrestrained democracy. The latest cut is the federal law that bans the old-fashioned incandescent light bulb in favor of more “earth-friendly” alternatives. Today’s Wall Street Journal features this excellent commentary piece by Brian Carney.

He hits the nail on the head when he asks, “But why worry about making a product so good people feel they have to have it, when you can instead get the government to tell them they have no choice?”

This is the price we pay for a nation that has become badly infected with politics. Even the most mundane choices people might make are increasingly dictated by government.
