Former lacrosse player Kyle Dowd has filed suit against Duke and a professor, Kim Curtis (right), who Dowd said failed him and another lacrosse player in retaliation for the rape allegations. According to WTVD, the grades were changed to passing grades later, which implies that Dowd is correct in his charge. By the way, Curtis was one of the infamous Duke 88, a group of lefty, multi-culti profs who condemned the players early on.

I’m sure there’s more litigation to come.

UPDATE: From Kim Curtis’ Web page on the Duke server:

Research Interests:

She is currently at work on a book on the feminist movement in the United States that examines the relationship between theory and practice.

UPDATE: Here’s the N&O’s story.

UPDATE: Kim Curtis speaks in the unintelligible language of the post-modern pretentious academic:

Efforts to silence dissenting voices indeed orchestrate feelings in the service of a docile and reactionary patriotism. In crippling the range of permissible feeling, these acts foster a citizenry incapable of the elementary responsibility of democratic citizenship: to think what “we” are doing and have done. We must embrace the task of learning a more complicated history of who we are by learning what we have done and understanding the effects of our deeds upon others. And for this, we must draw on the full range of our republic’s feelings and thoughts. Let freedom ring.

UPDATE: The N&O editors seemed to like her prose. She has written several columns for them. Here’s one on global warming. Money quote:

We all need to keep up the clamor, to keep the heat of revolt alive to cool this beautiful planet.
