About a third of the calls were about federal coupons to pay for digital converter boxes, an indication that at least 100,000 people still didn’t have the right equipment to receive digital signals.
Aside from the idiocy of the federal government dealing with an individual’s technological upgrade of consumer electronics, these people have had months and months of incessant bombardment on TV about this change. Why should we care that they acted irresponsibly and ignored those warnings? Let them deal.
In most instances when government gives you a deadline, you are penalized for breaking it. Don’t get your tax return in on time? Pay the interest. Don’t get your car inspected or registered on time? You get a ticket. Why are we wiping these people’s rear ends for them? Why is it assumed this is government’s job? Thank a liberal.
