North Carolina education leaders and the state’s largest teachers’ group continue to back a cap of 100 public charter schools across the state, a stance that has stunted the growth of the charter school movement.

That’s just one of the challenges charter school advocates face as they move forward in 2010. John Locke Foundation education policy analyst Terry Stoops outlined those challenges and highlighted charter school success stories during a presentation today to the JLF Shaftesbury Society.
