Walter Williams has a new column exploring the harm that progressivism has done to American blacks, especially through the lowering of standards in an effort at “fairness.” He contrasts that with the achievements of blacks where standards have not been lowered for them, particularly sports.
When asked what the nation should do with blacks, Frederick Douglass replied, “Do nothing with us, but leave us free.” Too bad that almost no black “leaders” today argue for freedom. That’s because the path to wealth and power for them is in orchestrating political fixes like “affirmative action.”
