Writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, John Graham of the Pacific Research Institute refutes the idea being pushed by many interventionist politicians that we’ve just got to move to socialized medical care (make that fully socialized) because we’re spending more than people in other countries are. In short, the reason we spend more is that we are more prosperous. Hardly a problem, but the zealots who want to force a “single-payer” system down our throats will use any excuse, no matter how feeble.
