Academic outrages just keep getting more, well, outrageous. A high school textbook in Australia
is catching some flak for comparing the Crusades to September 11. Of
course, this was just a teaching device to make the youngsters think,
don’t you know. Just like Jay Bennish’s anti-Bush, anti-America rant out in Colorado. And “Nickel and Dimed” and “Approaching the Qur’an” were just to get callow freshmen at UNC to think.

Funny
how the only thing that can make students “think” is some left-wing
tract or work of moral equivalence. I’m waiting for the sit-ins and
mass protests that will occur when “Capitalism and Freedom” or “The Conscience of a Conservative” is assigned to freshmen at some university as summer reading to get them to think.
