Steve Gilbert at Sweetness & Light did a little word substitution on Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor’s infamous 2001 “wise Latina” speech. He replace the word Latina wherever it occurred with “white.” Read it and see if any person of pallor could get away with such a thing. Here’s a sample:
