Weird, interesting letter from a fellow in Utah about a story in the Elizabeth City Daily Advance reporting on a visit by a group of neo-Nazi morons to a Confederate memorial in Edenton:

I read with great disgust the article by Chris Whipple concerning the visits to the Confederate monument in Edenton by neo-Nazis of the National Socialist Movement.

My disgust is not with the article per se, nor with Chris Whipple, but with the fact that a gang of ignorant, hate-mongering white supremacists would have the temerity to visit a Confederate monument in an apparent show of some misinformed and uneducated solidarity with the Confederacy.

Are these cretins unaware of the fact that one of the main political and governmental leaders of the Confederate States was, in fact, of Jewish lineage? Are they blind to the fact that Jews, Catholics, blacks and Native Americans all fought and, many times, died for the Confederacy? As a direct descendant of several Confederate soldiers, as well as being part Native American and part Jewish, I find the ignorant treatment of Confederate monuments, flags, and memories by white supremacists ? as well anti-southern individuals ? to be disheartening if not downright infuriating.
