The House Select Committee has moved to focus on Rep. Wright’s campaign misconduct and failure to report campaign contributions to the State Board of Elections as required by state law.

Alec Peters, Special Deputy Attorney General, presented a laundry list of donations that were unreported by Rep. Wright.

Evidence was presented that between 2000 through 2006, $193,900 in contributions were not reported. There were 22 reports involved.

82 percent of 2006 contributions were not reported; during 2nd Quarter 2004 he reported none of his contributions, although bank records showed that he actually received over $26,000.

Peters explained that there was a pattern of non-disclosure of particular groups’ contributions (particularly nurse anesthetists) who had proximity to legislative action that affected them or their interests. It happened often enough that it went beyond coincidence.
