The Rhino’s Scott Yost reports that Guilford County Commissioner Steve Arnold’s legal troubles in Randolph County are the least of his troubles:
While that story has been getting plenty of media attention, the big story has gotten none: Arnold has just been ordered by the Guilford County courts to pay another party $1.275 million, and the Avery County sheriff has been instructed to seize the objects of value on Arnold’s property in that county.
I’ll come right and admit it hurts to say this, but Arnold should resign his commission seat. As his numerous financial and legal troubles continue to mount, his credibility as a public servant, despite his vociferous defense of taxpayers’ money, continues to decline.
