The Charlotte Observer‘s editorial staff muses on the political implications of the first override vote in the history of North Carolina’s gubernatorial veto.

It is an interesting topic. Barring a special legislative session, lawmakers will have little reason to deal much more with Gov. Mike Easley. But most of these lawmakers expect to work with Easley’s successor in 2009. Did the override vote send a message to Bev Perdue and Pat McCrory?

Becki Gray and I will discuss this topic in an upcoming edition of Carolina Journal Radio.
