John Locke is alive and well and talking to reporters. Known better by friends and acolytes as John Hood, Mr. Locke weighed in on the politicized issue of cutting funding to daycare:
“Pre-K should be a targeted program aimed at saving money in the long run, not laying the foundations for universal, tax-funded preschool,” Locke wrote.
Also interviewed was Senator Jim Davis (R-Franklin). Referencing the appropriateness of the program that made taxpayers subsidize daycare for families of four earning $50,000, Davis (or maybe we should call him Aretha) asked:
“Just what is government’s responsibility to make up for poor parenting?”
The extensive hash-out of the issue may be read in its entirety here.
