In the past few days Washington Post reporters have claimed to hear racially tinged comments at McCain and Palin rallies, and have reported “anger” in the audiences. Now comes the kicker: McCain is endangering Obama.
The Chicato Tribune‘s James Oliphant floats that in a blog post (emphasis added):
History has proven that some Americans don’t take to social change with grace. And with the troubled economy, the wars, and the now real prospect of the first African-American president, there is, in pockets of the country, real confusion, dread and fear.
John McCain’s presidential campaign encountered some of that Thursday, judging from accounts in the Washington Post this morning detailing a McCain rally in Wisconsin.
Interesting how that works, isn’t it?
UPDATE: More in the increasing crescendo of “angry Republican” reports. This time it’s John Kerry who chimes in, basing his comments on the very same Washington Post reports used by Oliphant above. From little acorns, large memes grow.
