The Politics of Hurricane Relief

Over the past two days along, the NAACP Disaster Relief Phone Bank,
staffed by NAACP leadership and volunteers, has recorded hundreds of
personal stories and coordinated information and resources to thousands
of callers. NAACP volunteers have worked to place over 17,000 displaced
victims in homes. Currently, the NAACP in collaboration with MoveOn.org
Civic Action has identified over 104,000 beds made available by
volunteers across the nation.
