I received a general press release from the City of Asheville rehashing the information already published in the local conservative rag with information on where to send comments. Why does the city want us to be so news-aware about old news? It probably wasn’t so much because the conservative rag likened the subject matter, the downtown master planning process, to progressive activities supporting the rise of Nazism prior to WWII; it could be because they told their base how to weigh in.
The second input session was an exercise in getting the public to “should” on other peoples’ property. Is it psychologically sound for one group of people to create an identity for another group? Anyway, the next meeting is June 12 at 6:00 at the Civic Center Banquet Hall.
