nullI was going to comment on the announcement that Quintiles, thanks to a $25 million bribe from Durham County, is going to stay and add 1,000 jobs, but Paul Chesser beat me to it over on the John Locke Foundation’s Locker Room blog. Paul writes:

The $25-million incentive package given to Quintiles to expand its pharmaceutical research facilities in Durham County is even more sickening than the usual corporate welfare that state and local governments hand out all the time.

Read the whole thing.

Meanwhile, the holders of those 1,000 jobs need to remember, every time they see their state withholding statements, that they’re paying 100 percent of that amount to Quintiles’ bookkeeper, but the bookkeeper is only sending 25 percent of it to the state tax bureaucrats. Nice.
