The Greensboro News & Record provides an update on the race for the 12th Congressional District seat current held by Mel Watt. Watt doesn’t seem to be running for reelection even if the Senate doesn’t confirms him to head the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Total amount raised so far by those seeking to replace Watt in the U.S. House: $425,000+.  The apparent candidates to date: Rep. Alma Adams, D-Guilford; George Battle, the attorney for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system; Rep. Marcus Brandon, D-Guilford; Sen. Malcolm Graham, D-Mecklenburg; and Charlotte attorney Curtis C. Osborne.
